Food Factory

In the agri-food sector, Construction Vergo primarily designs food plants that are in full compliance with the HACCP system (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point).

The HACCP system
The HACCP system is recognized worldwide as the ideal tool to prevent food safety hazards in the agri-food sector, through the execution of a control throughout the fabrication process at critical stages called CCPs. These CCPs enable the operators to detect and control the dangers before their products are distributed. The HACCP is interested in three classes of food hygiene hazards, which are biological, chemical and physical hazards.

The FSEP system
In Canada, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has implemented the Food Safety Enhancement Program (FSEP), which is the equivalent of the HACCP system. The majority of food plants designed by Construction Vergo therefore meet the FSEP and HACCP processes, allowing agri-food sector companies in Quebec to export their products on the global scene.

Other food plants
In some cases where compliance to both systems is not mandatory, Construction Vergo can also design customized food plants in accordance with its client’s demands.
