Métro Richelieu distribution center
Through the process of a Design-Construction-type tender, Construction Vergo has been mandated in 2012 to build Métro Richelieu Inc.'s new fruit, vegetable and dairy products distribution center. With a 241,000 square-foot refrigerated product storage surface and 40,000 square-foot administrative offices, it was possible for Construction Vergo to complete the project within the targeted budget and delays. The main challenge was to design the plans, have them approved and acquire the required permits for conception and construction in the imposed period of 12 months. This project is part of Métro's sustainable construction philosophy (CO2 refrigeration, white roof, LED lighting and environment protection). It was also developed in respect with the city of Laval's environmental objectives.
